JEE 2024: 3 Rules for 200+ Marks
I have told these 3 rules to all students in the last 5 years, and these rules have been beneficial for everyone.
Rule #1: 4-4-2 Rule. This is a timetable rule. It says that you should have 3 study slots every day, of 4 hours, 4 hours, and 2 hours each. You can plan these from 8PM to 12 noon, 2PM to 6PM, and 8PM to 10PM. These are not super exhaustive hours, and have ample breaks in between. You are more productive before evening, and that’s when most of the hours have been allocated. These hours are during the JEE hours, which will help you on the final day.
Rule #2: 80-20 Rule: This is a general rule in life - 80% of results come from the most concentrated 20% of efforts. You might have “wasted” your time till now, but even if you get serious from today till JEE Advanced, you can still get a good rank. Also, you should spend 80% of your time on problems now - as that is what will get you a great rank.
Rule #3: A+, A, A- Rule: Make three columns on a paper, and categorise all the chapters in syllabus into three categories. The first category is chapters you know really well (A+), the second those you don’t know enough to be confident in JEE Main (A), and the third would be chapters you are the least confident in (A-). Every day, try to move chapters from A- to A+, crossing chapters from A- and adding them to A and A+. This exercise keeps you on track and is a good reminder of what to focus on.
This was it, follow these three rules and see your JEE prep flourish!
